The Phillipstown Community Centre Charitable Trust Board

“Twenty-five years ago, I joined the Phillipstown Residents Association. Twenty-four years ago, we founded the PCCCT for the purpose of establishing and operating Phillipstown's first Community Centre. I became a founding member of the Trust because I was a long-term local resident, a local businessperson, and an employer of Phillipstown residents. I remain a resident and continue to be committed to a thriving centre for Phillipstown.”

“Tēnā koutou katoa. Ko Alicia Ward tōku ingoa, ā, e noho ana au ki Phillipstown. My name is Alicia Ward, and I have lived within Phillipstown for the past 12 years. I served as a board member of the Phillipstown school during its final years and joined this trust a couple years later. I love this community and the amazing people who live here. Phillipstown if full of real people with real stories. I was drawn to the hub and the potential we as a community have to create amazing spaces for ourselves.”

“Kia Ora, my name is Isabella. I have called Christchurch east side home for 15 years now, and I have a passion for community wellbeing. As the newest trustee at PCCCT I aspire to serve and advocate for the diverse needs of members of the Phillipstown community, aligning with the PCCCT mission, vision and goals. Outside of my work as trustee, I am a life-long learner, partner and mum to a beautiful 2-year-old girl.”

“Hi, I’m Pam Hughes, a Trustee with the Phillipstown Community Centre Charitable Trust. I have 50 years’ experience of community development and I have been involved in the Hub for a number of years. I live in Waltham, and I also am involved in the Waltham OSCAR programme. What initially drew me to The Phillipstown [Community] Hub was its grass roots nature, its mahi of empowerment of local people, the respect which every person is given, and its collectivism.”
