Older Adult Leisure Club · Come along and enjoy a social outing with afternoon tea and plenty of chatter. The programme features games, guest speakers, gentle exercise, outings and some crafts. Some outings may require extra costs and are advised on the programme. $3 session (outings $5) includes afternoon tea.  Tuesday (School Terms only) from 12.30 to 3pm - Room 10
Community Pantry · Swap, take, donate, reduce waste! The community Pantry is open every day of the week thanks to the staff and volunteers who feed it regularly. The Pantry was built and donated to the Hub by Mitre 10 Ferrymead and is supported by Food Bank Canterbury.
Hub cafeteria · In December 2021 the Hub received a fantastic wooden cabin by SheShed as a donation. Now, thanks to the City Council and the Sustainability Fund, we are going to install solar panels on it and turn it into a cafeteria, a place for our community to bump into each other, connect and socialise.
The project is underway, stay tuned for updates!

Community Gardens · Our community gardens are an integral part of the Hub, we have a group of dedicated volunteers who have developed this from a blank canvas.
We have a vision for the skills and knowledge of our garden volunteers to be shared with our community by extending our current gardening to include training interested people in how to create and maintain a healthy home garden and how to prepare the produce for meals.
The produce from our garden, as it becomes available, is passed on to community via our food pantry.
The gardens are accessible seven days per week.
Gala Day and events · The Trust, often in collaboration with the Hub Groups, runs free community events such as the annual Gala Day in Summer, Matariki celebration, Easter Eggs Hunt, Halloween, Grill your candidates and other family days.

Neighbourhood Connection ·  The Trust advocates for the community’s interests linking with the Phillipstown Safety Panel and representing & promoting the local community to the decision-making bodies and the local government.
The PCCCT is a very established and active organisation formed mainly by local residents who have lived in the neighbourhood for a long time (some of them for more than 30 years) and have the knowledge and the mana to represent and stand up for the local community.
The PCCCT promotes meeting for residents to discuss the most impellent issues in the neighbourhood (Community Conversations), connects residents with local MPs, councilors and community board members, organises Heritage Walks, clean-up days (together with Kāinga Ora), Community BBQs with the Phillipstown Neighbourhood Policing Team and and anything that can help bring the neighbourhood together.

Phillipstown Walks
In May 2021, we partnered with Te Pūtahi Centre for Architecture and City Making to organise a neighbourhood ‘conversation walk’ in the Phillipstown community. The purpose of the walk was to build relationships with members of our wider community and learn about people’s thoughts and experiences of our neighbourhood.
Using the knowhow developed thanks to the partnership with Te Pūtahi, we organised two walks during the Christchurch Heritage Festival in October 2021, one focusing on the residential stories of people living in the area over time, churches, parks and education, and the other focusing on the industrial and business history of the area.
Information about and maps for our walks can be found on the PoPping around page.
