The go-to place, the gathering place, the activity place
for the folk and whānau of Phillipstown and around.
Nested in the middle of Phillipstown - at stone’s throw from the City Centre - Te Whare Whānau Whānui/Phillipstown Community Hub is the beating heart of the Phillipstown community. Run and managed by the Phillipston Community Centre Charitable Trust (PCCCT), the Hub is home to a number of community organisations that offer a wide range of activities, services and programmes to our local residents (as well as to the wider Ōtautahi ). Far from busy roads and surrounded by trees, flowers and an amazing vegie garden, gala and family days, markets and other community events find here at the Hub a gorgeous location. |

The sheltered outdoor gathering space, the Kotahitanga - with its pizza oven and the BBQ -, the playgrounds and its spacious community lounges are available for the community and other organisations to book.
What community says
The Hub is an amazing venue for whanau with pepi, tamariki and rangatahi to attend as we had an option for them to play outside and with resources in the space/room we booked. The facilities made our workshops really easy for parking, kai, air conditioning, planning and hui. The Mums & Bubs group provides a wonderful opportunity for children to socialise, negotiate and communicate with other children. It’s a safe place for children to explore, learn to share and make friends. For many this is the main opportunity to do so each week. The Hub has a vital role in promoting a range of activities for the residents thereby encouraging potential and strengthening relationships within the community. The Hub offers a wide range of programmes reflecting the needs of the community. The Phillipstown Hub is a wonderful resource and a place to relax, learn, create, grow and make friendships. It is also a place where there is the opportunity to put something back into the community, by giving people a purpose and, therefore, a hope. Born out of the Phillipstown primary school after the earthquakes, the community center is a great place to meet up with a huge variety of groups. Get involved! What an awesome asset for the community! Check out the community vegetable garden, and the awesome “BBQ” area complete with brilliantly designed outdoor furniture made of upcycled pallets. Such an amazing resource for the community. They are really turning it into a thriving Hub. Love the fact that fitness, craft and family classes are happening. The new meeting space in the middle is really fantastic as well. The community garden always looks inviting and it’s nice to know that the police are near so it feels safe. So grateful to have this resource. An amazing community hub that hosts a diverse and thriving range of activities and community organizations. Coming here once a week is one of my faboruite things to do in my week. It has a super supportive community approach and all the people I've come across there are very genuine. I've done a few community classes based at this hub and it's just great. Such a beautiful place where the community can come together to grow and belong. |
